Price details and FAQ's

Jasper National Park entry fees help support the services and facilities available to visitors. This means that every time you visit, you are investing in local sustainability and helping to make the park better for future generations.

How long is a temporary Annual Discovery Pass valid for?

If you purchase an Annual Discovery Pass, the confirmation email you receive at the time of purchase (PDF) will serve at your temporary Park Pass (valid for up to 1 month or until physical pass is received by mail). This will need to be printed and displayed prominently on the vehicle dash.

How much do Park Passes Cost?

Daily Passes are:

  • Family/Group- $22
  • Adult- $11
  • Senior- $9.50

Discovery Passes (Yearly Pass) are:

  • Family/Group- $151.25
  • Adult- $75.25
  • Senior- $64.50

Do I need a pass?

All visitors to Jasper National Park are required to have a valid National Park Pass, regardless of the mode of travel. Park passes can be purchased online, at the park gates if driving to the park, or in person at the Visitor Center in downtown Jasper.

If you are visiting the park with a Tour Operator, please contact them directly to see if they will be purchasing a park pass on your behalf.

What are the different pass types?

When purchasing a pass online, you can buy passes for groups of up to seven (7) people who are visiting in one vehicle. There are different pass types available:

  • Day Passes - for single day entry. A day is defined as the day of entry, regardless of time of entry, until 4.00 p.m. the following day.
  • Discovery Passes - for annual entry to all Canadian National Parks - valid for one year from the month of purchase.
  • Family/Group Passes - are good for 2-7 people traveling in one vehicle.
  • Adult or Senior passes - are per person.

Often, for visits spanning longer than six or seven days, it is more affordable to purchase an annual Discovery Pass.

Please note: Receipts must be printed on paper and displayed prominently on the left-hand side of the vehicle dashboard to have valid entry to the park.
