While not quite into the height of summer temperatures yet, Jasper in June has plenty of summery adventure opportunities. Here's some examples to get those idea wheels turning.
1 Celebrate Father's Day
Happening this year on June 16, Father's Day presents a unique opportunity to either embark on a bonding experience with your dad, or to send him out into the wilderness for some peaceful alone time. From mountain biking to golf to pizza and beer on a patio, show Pops that you appreciate him.
2 Cavell Road re-opens
The Cavell Road is a twisting, turning 14 kilometre route through sub-alpine forests that leads to one of Jasper's finest natural attractions: Mount Edith Cavell. After its usual winter closure, this road will reopen on June 14 (weather permitting) and people will once again be able to discover the majesty of these alpine meadows.
3 Enjoy Jasper's Patios
Dine in the open air. People-watch to your heart's content. Grab a spot at one of Jasper's downtown patios! All along Jasper's two main thoroughfares, local restaurants will once again be serving up delicious grub and bevvies al fresco. Don't miss this chance to eat drool-worthy food with a side of beautiful mountain views.
4 Summer activities and hotels are open
By the beginning of June, pretty much all of Jasper's summer activities and accommodations are open for the season. Try rafting, guided hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, and much more!
5 Spirit Island Boat Tour
If you haven't yet seen the famous Spirit Island, this June is the time to go. Declared the “Best Boat Cruise in Canada” by 8 million Reader’s Digest subscribers, Pursuit's Maligne Lake Cruise is a panoramic tour down Maligne Lake and is a must-do.
