Maligne Canyon Icewalks
Come explore the depths of this iconic Jasper canyon with the locals! Join Joy & Sean on a one of a kind winter adventure into Maligne Canyon's mysterious karst system. We'll walk the bottom of a river that rages in the summer but transforms into a walkable winter wonderland every year! You'll be able to photograph unique ice formations, learn about the amazing mysteries of the canyon and experience fun features like the "Corkscrew" as we travel safely through Maligne Canyon.
There is a morning and afternoon ice walk time to choose (8/8:30am & 12/12:30pm). NEW night ice walks begin at 8pm on Saturdays only. Tour is 3 hrs. In our opinion the morning tour is the best. It’s worth it, we promise!
Your guide, Joy or Sean, will provide boots, ice cleats, and clean helmets for the journey as well as headlamps for the night hikes. Complimentary hot apple cider is also included (suspended due to COVID-19). Make sure you bring warm clothes, a camera and a sense of adventure!
Why choose us:
We’re a small business with local knowledge, passion and years of professional training.
You are guaranteed to get a guide who has been doing this for years (there’s only two of us!), so your walk will not only be safe, but backed by years of experience of having fun AND respecting this amazing place we are so fortunate to call our home.
We’re in this for the love of nature, not the money, so come enjoy this winter wonderland with us!
